Elizabeth Garcia is an experienced paralegal who assists attorneys with complex civil litigation, bankruptcy and criminal defense matters in both state and federal courts.  Prior to joining BKLW, Elizabeth worked as a litigation paralegal at a boutique law firm that specialized in a wide range of general and complex civil cases including real estate, business, personal injury, medical malpractice, corporate transactional, probate and trust administration.

While working at BKLW, Elizabeth served as lead paralegal in a criminal trial in which the firm represented an individual accused of scheming to fraudulently obtain more than $20 million in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) COVID-19 relief funds.  She has also worked on various cases in which BKLW has represented creditors seeking relief from bankruptcy stays and collection of judgments. Among other things, she and the BKLW team represented a creditor in a series of complex, interrelated cases in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California, United States District Court for the Central California, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, an unlawful detainer action filed in California state court, and proceedings involving the U.S. Marshal’s Office for property lien and wage garnishments.

Elizabeth graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, where she was a recipient of a Diversity Leadership Scholarship and member of the Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society. Elizabeth earned her paralegal certificate from the California State University, Los Angeles.
